Nov 19 Let’s Talk Faux Fur Coats

Faux fur has been around for some time now. It used to be a look for the super-rich, but also could be rather granny-esque at the opposite end of the scale. So if you were going home on public transport at the end of a hard day at work, it probably wasn’t for you.

But then we decided enough was enough. We would all like a bit of that million dollars feeling. Why can’t I enjoy a luxury look as well? (there are some out there though that don’t look all that luxury :|) The down-side to this is the challenge not to break the bank, and finding one that suits (I’m still looking!).

So what’s the look you're thinking of when you consider a fur coat? A rapper with the oversized thang goin on, resplendent with gold chains. Or the rappers’ biatch in a body-con dress, huge fur, towering heels, massive earrings, you feel me? Or maybe the boho look, fur coat over a long dress, bed-head hair, henna tattoo. Then there’s pairing with some boyfriend jeans, very casual with trainers. Or, maybe your thinking is more Cruella Deville!?

I’ve been looking for a faux fur since September but I can’t find one that looks right on me. I’m not keen on the ones with collars, it makes me appear as if I possess the shoulders of the Incredible Hulk. They can’t be too long on me either, due to my shortness situation. But I’m not giving up on this one! There is a coat out there for me. I’ve just got to get out there and try them on.
