The Trouser Suit

There are women that come to mind when I think of a trouser suit.  Marlene Dietrich and Katherine Hepburn were some of the first to bring them into the fashion zeitgeist. 

Then Annie Lennox.  She just rocked the trouser suit.  Lady Diana did too.  Emma Willis is up there as well. 

I fell out of love with the Trouser suit probably when the shoulder pad came in, short little me with shoulder extensions... yeah, maybe not.  Very much hoping they don’t become de rigueur any time soon.  I’ve tried a few suits on recently which if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen, a fab French Connection number which unfortunately I had to deny myself, and an H&M one which I did plump for.  It is all-over stripes, and whilst I grant you it does take a little bit of daring to wear any all-over pattern, with a suit you can break it up with a plain top.

So with my love for the trouser suit rejuvenated, when the warmer weather returns and a light jacket is all we need (just how good does that sound?!) they definitely will be something I’ll be donning :)
